Friday Night Fights: Get ready For An Armored Ass Kicking

I decided now would be a good time to join all the Cool Kids and participate in Friday Night Fights, hosted by Bahlactus, the man with the coolest damn blog logo I've ever seen in my life.

Here's a scene from Iron Man #163 where the Armored Avenger humiliates a lame villain while beating the crap out of him. The dude in that black armor is probably having a flashback to the time in high school when that jock slapped him around in front of gym class and made him cry.

Iron Man = Mean.

Please tell me that's some sort of high-tech armor designed to look like it's from the middle ages. Because using powered armor that grants the wearer, like, Class 80 strength to smash up a four hundred-year-old antique doesn't seem very... sober.

Iron Man really ought to be shot into space for acting like this.

He's just doing this to get more views and less "Who's Dave Campbell" pics.

Isn't that a Knight from Obadiah Stane's Chessmen taking that horrendous beating? If so, scott, it was (kinda) high-tech armor with a flying horse-ish vehicle and a lance that shot energy. Not even close to Iron Man league (obviously), but they did tend to attack more than one at a time.

Stane was obsessed with chess ever since childhood, and probably should have been a Batman villain, because he modeled his team of high-tech minions on chess pieces. Yes, it was lame. Here's a (pre-beating) cover pic.

What happened in the fight with the Knight dude, Tony?

    "Somebody lost."

I think Iron Man is doing the Charleston on that cover.

  9. Didn't Iron Man do this same routine with Cap in Civil War? I seem to recall a "don't get up, Cap...I don't want to have to hit you again" moment.
