Kobra Week... is over

Thus ends Kobra Week here at Dave's Long Box. (I know, it's Monday, but I meant to post this late last night and fell asleep...)

Alas, I didn't get a chance to do my big Janus Directive crossover review, or to go over any of my JSA issues that featured the Deadliest Man Alive. There's only one week, and so much Kobra. I think we've all learned that yes, each of us has a little bit of Kobra inside us. Hopefully not too much. Thanks and praise to Long Box readers Scott and Jeremy for pointing out some Kobra appearances that I was not aware of.

Until next year's Kobra Week, I leave you with an image of The King of Evil striding over the backs of his worshippers, basking in their fear and adulation.

HAIL KOBRA!

Thank you, Dave! Great posts, everyone!

There are so many great Kobra lines, but this one...this one makes me wish I was in high school again so I could write it in everybody's yearbook. ---- "You seek the Lord of Evil? You have found him." Dat's Kold, baby. Kobra Kold!

BTW, is it spelled "Naga Naga" or "Naja Naja"? I've seen both spellings but I want to know which one would get me strangled by the King so I can avoid it...

  2. I love how smug Kobra looks in that image. And he appears to be power walking rather than striding.

I just had a stroke of brilliance.

    Written by Johns.

    Penciled by Bright.

    Inked by Adams.

DC Comics and Devil's Due Presents:

    THE COBRA/KOBRA WAR.

Okay, maybe I just had a stroke.

I apologize if somebody's already said this, but: Naga please!

That's was great fun Dave, thanks! And it's good to see you're back from the dead like so many other DC comic book characters of late. Just what does it take to really kill you guys?

  9. Kurt, man - love your blog. Go check out Kurt's Return to Comics site, now on my sidebar links. It's amusing. I wish I had thought of this line:

"This may not be the worst Batman book of all time, but it’s in the team photo."

Thanks for the link Dave - you rock.

And it's nice to see Kobra has such a generous benefits program that you can simply take a break like this. I need a gig like that.

  11. You know, I always used to hate Kobra because he was so stupid.

But, thanks to you, Dave, I have completely changed my mind.

Kobra is HILARIOUS; I just didn't get the joke before. I mean, "Kobra takesss honey!" How could I not have seen it?
